Welcome to my blog. I am a gay skinhead and a SHARP. I am also an author of skinhead books and my favorite author is Richard Allen, and no I don't style my writings after his books. My characters are as real as I can make them in my mind and all my books try to show my feelings against racial, sexual and religious hate. Being a skinhead is not just being a lout although that does help in a fight, but upholding a creed and brotherhood established by working class youth in the late 60's.

What is a skinhead
A guy or girl who believes in working class values and respects those who share the same beliefs. Not all skinheads have shaved heads, wear suspenders or wear boots, but these are good signs. Not all skinheads are racist, but unfortunately some are. They are "boneheads" to the rest of the skinhead world because of the blemish they have put on a proud group of working class kids. Skinheads are of every race, every religion, because it's not who you are, what race you are or any external factor. It's what is in your heart. Traditional skins look to their English and Jamaican roots for their lifestyle and their music (Oi, punk, ska, reggae, and rockabilly). SHARP (Skinheads against Racial Prejudice) skins are the democrats of the skinhead world, accepting all and defending their way of life. A skinhead friend of mine once told me that he only fights for 3 things: his family, his friends and his honour. This is what is important to skinheads, not "protecting the white race" or to carry out Hitler’s unfinished work.
It's something you are. It's not a style. It's not a fad. It's a way of life. Skinheads will live on as long as there are fat cats in power who don't give a shit about the youth of today. We're proud, we're pissed and we're here to stay.

skinhead music
Loka Nunda
Skinhead music has wained over the last few years with punk rock taking over the scene, but I recently found a new skinhead music ledgend, Loka Nunda. His music covers several sounds but he remains a true skinhead throughout. The link above gives you a world of songs and video music to add to your collection. I personally love Ska, Reggae and TwoTone but his music style caught my attention. I have several favourites including 'Stomp Stomp', 'Real Men' and many more and some are shown on this blog site. Check the past blogs to locate them.
skinhead music is music with a beat, whether it be Stomp, Reggae, Ska or Carabean style, we all want to dance and hear a beat. Words are for the angry and working man, seldom if any are love songs; they all have attitude. Their music is of an angry woking class youth, pissed off with the government and the world, pissed off with poverty and unemployment. Football, drinking with your mates, dancing with the squad on Saturday nights and a rumble afterwards is the highlight of a boring week.
In the coming weeks I will add some skinhead music for your listning pleasure. In the meantime, watch and listen to Loka Nunda and mabe head over to his web site and download a few of his tracks.

Freedom of speech and thoughts
This blog has been on the web for 4 days and yet I have received several hate emails and one that has threatened my life. Regardless of my race or sexual orientation, I am still a skinhead and to those who sent the emails, I have been a skinhead since 1968, well before they were even a twinkle in their fathers eye. For me being a skinhead is a way of life, but being a gay skinhead came to me later in life. Untill 1978 I was your average skinhead, unemployable, or constantly out of work. I had an attitude problem and a record of many visits to police cells. I was given an option, prison or military service, so I opted for military service. It was more a skinhead gang than many I had been in before and a closer family feel.
I worked with many races and men of many colours and came to appreciate each and their abilities. My hate turned to admiration and to become a SHARP. Hate was never a part of my upbringing but I learnt it as part of being a skinhead. Many skinheads or 'boneheads' have good family backgrounds where hate was not part of their upbringing but more from their association with NF/WP or Nazi groups. Some were born into WP families and know no better.
I don't care about the emails, I believe every man on this planet has the right to express themselves in the form of free speech. I also believe that this blog is open to critism and welcome it. It means free speech is still alive and well. To our WP/NF and Nazi (bonehead) brothers maybe your interest in this blog can be used for your proporganda but it will never change the mind of a true SHARP.

Skinhead books
I love reading and writing skinhead books. I recently searched Amazon books and found 447 books dedicated to skinheads.There are many more in various subjects that relate to skinheads but not seen as a skinhead book. Richard Allen, Nick Knight are two well known writers of skinhead books and a new writer is Phil Lesbirel, a skinhead himself. His book 'A Matter of Honour' follows a young skinhead who is sent to a Juvenile Prison, but is approached by the Police to try and get close to a 'Bonehead', incarcerated in the same institution, who is associated with a Nazi skinhead group run by an IRA thug named Murphy. He is promised his record would be wiped if he can achieve his goal. He eventually agrees and manages to get inside the Nazi skinhead camp as a new recruit. He is a SHARP and the Nazi skinheads are abhorrent to him but he perseveres and through his efforts and assistance from other skinheads in the police force, manages to put Murphy behind bars. He becomes the leader of the Nazi skinheads with the help of the police and decides, Nazi or not, they are his squad and he stays as their leader. It is a matter of Honour.
This book shows the sheer brutality and racist beliefs of the 'Boneheads' but also shows that a young SHARP can still lead a squad of 'Boneheads' and preserve his honour as a SHARP by controlling their activities. This book is part 1 of a series this writer intends to produce to follow the activities and actions of this young skinhead.

A skinhead day
As a skinhead my day always starts with shaving my head to a smooth feel and look. It is the most important thing for me, as it defines who I am. Coffee, orange juice and a cigarette come next then into the shower to freshen up. Dress for the day depends on what I am doing, whether working or just relaxing. Working is wearing Ben Sherman shirts and a pair of black cotton polyester work pants and work boots well polished. Relaxing is a pair of cotton drill work pants, shirt and steel caped work boots (dirty is fine here), and going out is in my skinead gear teamed with well polished Doc's or my 30 hole Undergrounds. Boots maketh the man (or in this case the skin). Today is a work day so got to iron my Bennie and polish my Doc's, the 10 hole cherries.

If you read my profile you will see I show Colorado and Cairns as my place of residence. I live in Cairns Australia but own property in Colorado City CO in the US. It's only a plot of land as an investment but hey, I consider myself a Colorardian as much as an Australian. When will the media realise skinheads are not WP/Nazi youths out to kill and maime. Skinheads are working class youth who come together to support each other where the Government had failed. WP/Nazi elements have hijacked the skinhead look and used it for their own purposes. They are not true skinheads, they are imposters and dangerous ones at that. Skinheads are not racially provoked, they are racially integrated.
The original skinhead movement developed from the West Indian music and culture and it is still part of the brotherhood today. Their music is Ska, Reggae, Oi and 2Tone, the beat of the Indies. Their mode of dress came originally from the docklands of East London where most were born and spread worlwide. The West Indian dock workers wore their pants short (usually tucked into the boots) and their boots high as they worked unloading the boats. Braces were the sign of a working man. Work man's clothing were rough woolen or worsted pants, similar shirts or heavy cotton drill, donkey jackets or leather jerkins and hob nailed boots. Rubber soles took a few more years to enter the wook boot stocks. Braces were of leather or pants held up by strong wide leather belts or just sturdy rope. Jeans were just starting to make a fashion statement as they were still regarded as work pants by many.
The start of the skinhead movement was born out of unemployment, povety and the changes sweeping Britain at that time. The post war era when youth decided that the life of their parents was not for them. For those who could afford it, fashion became important but for the unemployed youth, hand-me-downs of fathers or brothers work clothes or ex army uniforms were all they had. It spurned a culture which exists today, where others fell by the wayside, proudly displaying its working class roots for all the world to see. The progression into a skinhead style took several years and the 80's saw the movement take on a look and a pride in their brotherhood. The traditional skinhead now has a fashion of its own; a shaved head or close cut hair, bleachers, usually Levi 501's, Polo shirt in squad colours again usually Ben Sherman or Fred Perry, sometimes a botton down colar shirt from Ben Sherman for a Saturday night on the town, Doc Martin or Underground boots (steel capped), braces ( elastic from 1" to 2" width) matching the polo or boot laces and finally an MA1 either olive green, navy or marone. Black is usually worn by 'boneheads' (WP/Nazi). This is the traditional uniform of a skinhead but many are now opting for the Scallie look of track suit and sneekers (a look I detest).
Many skinheads are classed as soccer louts and this is true in many cases. Soccer is the national sport of the UK and a rumble the second most important sport for a skinhead. When both combine it is the highlight of a skinhead week. Why to rumble? Why not, it's a way of ridding themselves of pent up fraustrations of the ever increasing povety unemployment brings, or social pressures of low paid work and unending boredom. Please don't get me wrong, some skinheads are employed in good jobs and earn a decent living but they are still skinheads from their youth and they have a mindset when dressed in their gear and with their mates. Long live the BROTHERHOOD.
